Election Commission is accepting IACC Shura and Ameer nomination forms from October 7^th, 2026.
Candidate qualifications in accordance with IACC Constitution Article 7 guidelines can be found below:

1. The candidate must be a registered member of IACC.
2. Candidates for the office of Ameer must have maintained continuous residency in Collin County for a minimum of two (2) years consecutively by election day.
3. Candidates for the office of Shura Member must have maintained continuous residency in Collin County for a minimum of one (1) year consecutively by election day.
4. Candidates for the office of Ameer or Shura Member must be a legal resident of the USA.
5. Candidates running for the office of Ameer shall not hold or accept any position such as Chairman, Chairman-Elect, President, Vice President or Treasurer of any other Islamic/Muslim non-profit organization.
6. The candidates and nominators must be practicing Muslims and frequent attendees… and have performed volunteer duties in masjid activities.

Additional rules and regulations:

1. By signing the nomination form, each nominee affirms that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with all election rules and regulations. Failure to adhere to these requirements may result in disqualification from the candidacy.
2. A candidate may contest for either the Shura Member position or the Ameer position, but not both. Any candidate nominated for both the Ameer and Shura Member positions shall be disqualified from both positions
3. Nomination forms will only be accepted if they are signed by both the candidate and the nominator. Completed nomination forms must be submitted via DocuSign no later than 9:00 PM on October 20, 2026.
4. Candidates and any individuals acting as surrogates or representatives of candidates shall not solicit or campaign within the perimeter of IACC property.
5. All candidates must adhere to Section 5 (Sections 5.1 and 5.2) of the IACC Constitution, as further clarified in the “Declaration of Faith”
6. All candidates must sign the official consent form authorizing the Election Commission to initiate a background check. Candidates are required to provide their full legal name, any known aliases, date of birth, driver’s license number, and Social Security number directly through the secure background‑check portal on or before October 29, 2026.
