Ustadha Sophia Khan

Ustadha Sophia Khan is a motivational speaker, educator, and Muslim community leader who is known for her engaging, understanding, and relatable teaching style, especially among Muslim youth and young adults.

She currently serves as the Youth Girls’ Advisor and Instructor for Safwah Seminary at the Islamic Center of Frisco and an Islamic Studies instructor for teen girls at BEAM Academy.

She studied Islamic Shari’ah Law in Arabic as her major at the University of Sharjah, U.A.E., and in addition to it, also has a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health.

Ustadha Sophia has had the opportunity to study under the students of known Islamic scholars for more than 7 years in the U.A.E.

Before moving back to America, she was hired by the Awqaaf (U.A.E. Ministry of General Authority of Islamic Affairs & Endowments) to teach youth of all ages various Islamic subjects – her specialty being in ‘Aqeedah (Islamic Creed), Adaab wa Akhlaaq (Islamic Character and Manners), Asmaa ul Husna (Names of Allah) and Tafseer of the Qur’an.

Ustadha Sophia’s focus and passion are to teach and guide the younger generation on connecting themselves with Allah (subhanu wa ta’ala) and navigating life through the Qur’an and Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes as well as through the lens of Islamic Psychology.

She is a known speaker at many events and conferences targeted towards the youth, college students, and young adults and has been an invited guest speaker at various university MSA events that have been held at UTD, UNT, Texas A&M, UT Austin, and many others.

When she isn’t teaching, you will find her at different DFW Muslim community events with her husband and two daughters.
