Ustadha Maryam Qazi
Maryam Qazi is a passionate Arabic Studies educator with expertise in classical and modern Arabic, academic research, and over a decade of teaching experience across K-12 and collegiate levels. She holds a Master of Arts in Islamic Texts with a concentration in Islamic Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Islamic Studies with a minor in Arabic from Zaytuna College.
Raised in Syria, Maryam studied under traditional scholars at Maʿhad al-Fatḥ al-Islāmī, where she developed fluency in Classical and Modern Standard Arabic. She wrote both her undergraduate and graduate theses in Arabic, exploring the Qur’anic concept of human nature (fiṭrah) through classical tafsīr and ḥadīth literature in her BA, and analyzing the application of a foundational legal maxim in Islamic jurisprudence through linguistic and logical methodologies in her MA.
Maryam has taught Arabic, Qur’an, tajwīd, fiqh, akhlaq, and theology to students ranging from young children to college-level learners through her work with the Rahmah Foundation, Deen Sprout Academy, and as an Arabic Teacher Assistant at Zaytuna College. Her academic interests include Arabic linguistics, uṣūl al-naḥw, uṣūl al-fiqh, qawāʿid fiqhiyyah, logic, and theology. She also holds an Arabic Curriculum Teaching License and Certification from the Quranic Linguistics Institute.
