Mufti Sajid helped form the first batch of students to start the &#8216;Alim course, a rigorous six to eight \u200byear\u200b detailed stu\u200bdy\u200b of Arabic grammar (<em>nahw<\/em>), morphology (<em>sarf<\/em>), and eloquence (<em>balaghah<\/em>); jurisprudence (<em>fiqh<\/em>) and its principles (<em>usul<\/em>); hadith and its principles; Quranic exegesis (<em>tafsir<\/em>) and its principles; creed (\u2018<em>aqidah<\/em>) and logic (<em>mantiq<\/em>); pronunciation, intonation, and caesura pertaining to Quran recitation (<em>tajwid<\/em>); and Prophetic and general Islamic history (<em>sirah, tarikh<\/em>). <br><br>\n\nAfter completing his <em>\u2018Alim<\/em> course in 2007, Mufti Sajid briefly pursued higher secular education for a year before his zeal for jurisprudence led him half way across the world in Camperdown, South Africa, where he enrolled at Madrasah In\u2019aamiyyah to specialize in the field of issuing legal verdicts (<em>iftaa<\/em>) under the expert in Hanafi fiqh, Mufti Ebrahim Desai (may Allah lengthen his life).  He successfully completed his training in 2010 and received authorization (ijazah) in issuing fatwas (legal verdicts).\n\n<br><br>Mufti Sajid currently serves as the Imam at Islamic Center of Aubrey, Texas and is active in the broader Dallas-Forth Worth area through teaching, lectures, chaplaincy, and various other programs.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mufti Sajid Ali Mufti Sajid Ali is a native of Chicago, where he initiated his formal Islamic studies at the Institute of Islamic Education in Elgin, Illinois.
