Hameem was born in Bronx, New York and moved to Dallas, Texas in 2001. He specialized in Religious Studies and English at Southern Methodist University for his undergraduate studies and received a liberal arts degree in Islamic Law and Theology from Zaytuna College. Most recently, he completed an M.A. in Islamic Studies at Columbia University. He has multiple years of experience teaching high-school Islamic Studies and since 2020 serves as head of curriculum development at Yaqeen Institute. He currently lives in Dallas where he moonlights as a baker.
