IACC Sunday School follows a comprehensive Islamic Studies curriculum for Aqeedah, Seerah & Quran. The curriculum includes topics based on Qur’an, Hadith, Rasuls, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Islamic history, companions, ideology, ethics, applications, and concepts. Lessons dealing with other faiths, madhhab and People of the Book.
AQEEDAH:
Throughout different grade levels, the children learn and build familiarity at various stages with the 5 pillars of Islam, Shahadah, What does Allah (SWT) do, Names of Allah, why we make Salah? The right path, Books of Allah, Zakat and Sadaqah: Similarities and Differences, Objective and Compilation of the Qur’an.
SEERAH:
The children learn about Rasulullah (SAW), the Hadith and Sunnah along with the khalifas, history of prophets throughout time, early life of Rasūlullāh (S), receipt of prophethood, Islamic values and morals, condition of pre-Islamic Arabia , Pledges of Aqabah, Hijrah to Madinah, overall life in Madinah and Liberation of Makkah. As the students’ progress through the Islamic Studies curriculum, they are introduced to additional topics with greater depth. For example, Istighfar, Islamic Greetings, Amr Bil Ma’ruf, Guarding our Tongues, Lailatul Qadr, Characters of the Prophets, Permitted and prohibited.
Emphasis is given to be able to read the Qur’an in Arabic with proper tajweed.
